Lincoln County School District is excited to offer Summer Learning opportunities for students! Selected students in Grades 1–5 have been invited to participate in a fun and engaging program focused on strengthening literacy skills while exploring science and art.

We are also offering a special Kindergarten Readiness Program for incoming Kindergarteners who will be 5 years old on or before September 1st, 2026, and plan to attend LCSD Kindergarten in the fall. This program will help build early literacy, social skills, and school routines to support a smooth transition into elementary school.

Our gym is currently getting a facelift with some brand-new bleachers! While the installation is underway, we’re switching things up for our upcoming event.

We’re turning the gym into a "Concert in the Park—Inside!"
To keep things comfortable and fun, please plan ahead:

BYO-Seating: Please bring blankets and/or lawn chairs to set up your spot on the gym floor.

Pick Your Vibe: Stake out a front-row blanket spot or set up your favorite camping chair in the back.

The Goal: Let’s embrace the cozy, casual atmosphere and make it a night to remember!

Note: Please ensure lawn chairs have rubber feet or "caps" if possible to help us protect our gym floor during the transition

Dear Families,

We would like to share information about the Backpack Kids Food Program in Lincoln City. The main goal of this program is to provide food support for children ages 4–18 who live in the area from Rose Lodge to Depoe Bay. Families with children attending local schools, online school, or homeschool are welcome to apply.

There are two ways children can receive food support:
• Weekly Food Bag Program – Students attending Oceanlake, Taft Elementary, or Taft 7–12 can receive a food bag on the last day of each school week to help over the weekend.
• Monthly Food Box Program – Families may sign up to receive a monthly food box that must be picked up on the third Thursday or Friday of each month at Lincoln City Hall.
Please note: Families may participate in either the weekly bag program OR the monthly box program, but not both at the same time.

When signing up, families will need to provide: Child’s first name, Age, and Gender.

Families participating in the monthly box program will receive a box number and assigned pickup day (Thursday or Friday). Text notifications are sent one week before pickup dates, and families must respond “YES” along with their box number in order to receive a prepared food box.

Pickup Information:
Location: Back of the building on SW Galley (under the library near the double doors at the end of the parking lot)
Time: 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM
Dates: Third Thursday and Friday of each month

This program is fully run by volunteers and does not receive federal funding. Volunteers spend many hours fundraising, purchasing food, organizing donations, and preparing food boxes for local children.

Additionalt, Food is intended only for the children living in your household. Students riding the bus must keep food bags sealed in their backpacks until they arrive home. Monthly food boxes also include age-appropriate books for children.
During summer break, families participating in the weekly bag program may request monthly food boxes for June, July, and August. If your child currently receives a weekly food bag and your family no longer needs this service, please contact the school office to have your child removed from the list.

This wonderful community program has been serving local children since 2007 through the hard work and dedication of volunteers.
